'Ice-Cream'...

Sometimes I really miss ice cream. There are dairy free substitute ice creams but they pretty much all contain soy!
I found a few different recipes on some blogging sites I follow sites:
Chocolate Covered Katie- a 'healthy' desert blog. She has quite a few different ice-cream recipes.

Dairy Free Chick- a blog devoted to lactose free recipes.

In both blogs they use diary free, soy free ingredients (or the option too). The tools they use are things you can find in your everyday kitchen (though in some recipes Katie uses an ice-cream maker, BUT she does give the option for people like me who do not have that appliance).

Last night I made one of the Dairy Free Chick's 'ice-cream' recipes. It is soo simple and only had two ingredients:
   2 frozen bananas
   5 frozen strawberries
Put them in the food processor and pulse until it turns into a delicious creamy dreamy ice cream consistency!
If needed you can add a little almond milk if it isn't going all nice and creamy, but chunky.

As she says there are "endless ways to jazz this up. Cocoa powder, chocolate chips, other frozen fruit, honey, chocolate syrup, peanut butter, cookie crumbles…"
